I’m so honored Josie Lewis took the time to make this little reel about my work! It’s so playful but acknowledges I really am working within a tradition of building on what has come before. So appreciative!

I’m so thankful for the support the Design Milk editing and writing team have given my practice this spring. I have always hated being asked to place myself in either a fine art or design box because my work fits wherever color harmony is required.

This was such a thoughtful write up of my work and I am so thankful to have reached an entire other continent with this publication.

Artist Katherine Duclos transforms LEGO bricks into abstract compositions that encapsulate fleeting moments of transition and personal memory. Her latest work presents a series of modular works, each assembled brick by brick in response to a period of upheaval in her life.

Katherine Duclos begins each artwork with a color palette and no plan. Placing modular LEGO bricks one by one, the Vancouver-based artist intuitively builds each dense composition, commencing a repetitive process in which she introduces paint before rearranging again.
