These sculptures make permanent the fleeting and intense experience of breastfeeding and pumping milk. They are cast or constructed using donated left over breastmilk storage bags, pumping and bottle parts, and other leftovers. I chose cement because it is a heavy, pedestrian, structural material, meant for supporting and strengthening, just like mothers. The plastic parts I have fused together, bending, breaking, and contorting them into new forms.
